An original croft house, Kongeørn has been sympathetically renovated to maintain the beautiful stone dwelling, whilst modernising extensively for both guests' comfort and enjoyment of the surroundings.
Uniquely Scottish, a croft is a plot of arable land with a house attached. Mellon Charles, where Kongeørn is situated, is a small crofting community on the north-west coast of Scotland. Found conveniently near the 'NC500' road route popular with cyclists and motorists, Mellon Charles has all of the seclusion one would seek in this part of the world, whilst still being connected to the essentials. The name Kongeørn is derived from Norwegian - paying tribute to the pair of golden eagles that circle above the house and can be easily seen and heard on clear days.
Kongeørn comprises of two well-appointed bedrooms and two shower rooms, perfect for one or two couples, or a small family. Further to this is a spacious kitchen area that flows through to a dining area, and a living area with spectacular views over Loch Ewe and the Torridon mountains. A boot-room and utility area complete the house with all that is needed to transition from the outside to inside. There is also a small study for those looking for a quiet moment or to catch up on some work, should needs must. The second bedroom can be arranged as a double, two singles, or a second study room with desk and futon.
No matter the season or the purpose, Kongeørn is the perfect getaway for a week - or longer - that will be unlike any other in the year.
